One Fine Day
After spending a two nights and three days at El Nido Beach for an island expedition. I had the chance to visit the Puerto Princessa City and see myself its one of a kind offering. I only had one day to see myself the finest of the city it can offer. So I visited some of the sought after tourist spots in the city.
The city located in the western provincial island of Palawan, Philippines and the second largest geographically after Davao City. Puerto Princesa is a popular tourist city with many beach resorts and seafood restaurants. It has been acclaimed several times as the cleanest and greenest town in the Philippines.
I went to visit The Crocodile Farm, which is a must for most tourist visiting the city. Luckily we have able to catch the last batch for that day touring schedule.
The Crocodile Farm has been a sanctuary to some of the most endangered crocodile in the country. The nearby provinces of the city is a habitat of several crocodiles living along with local residences. Two species of crocodiles are indigenous to the Philippines: the “saltwater crocodile”. The first crocodile breeding farm in the Philippines started in Puerto Princesa, Palawan in 1987, and operated from its inauguration until 1994 with technical assistance and cooperation from the Japanese government. The farm is also home to some of the wildlife species that found endangered nowadays.
It was almost late afternoon when we have reached our second destination. The Mitra’s Ranch located in Sta. Monica Heights Puerto Princesa City. It’s very easy to find this place because it is very popular.
Owned by the family of the late House Speaker Ramon “Monching” V. Mitra Jr. is a favorite and most frequented tourist spot in the city of Puerto Princesa. I had a perfect time for the sunset drive.
And before I finally wrap up my day, I drop by over the Baker’s Hill Kitchen, also situated in Sta. Monica Heights 20 minutes drive from Mitra’s Ranch. Baker’s Hill is famous for its delicious sweets ideal for taking home treats.
And to my surprise, I don’t have any clue that this pizza is a crocodile meat pizza. A must taste recipe in the city of Palawan.
